Not a big fan of REITs so he would caution you on this. Over the last few months, the bond market has backed up in yields and we are seeing a rotation happening in the US with regards to interest sensitive assets. Utilities have come off as well as the telcos. The issue on this one is interest rates. If the US economy is what he thinks it is, these rates have to go an awful lot higher than what they are today and all the interest sensitives like REITs, utilities and pipes, certainly in Canada, a day of reckoning is going to come. He finds REITs are very expensive.

Likes this but trying to pick a bottom in golds is very, very tough. He thinks it is all a function of that ETF. That gold ETF is under distribution and it could take a decade or more to get to the bottom of where gold is going to be. You can trade on little bounces. This one is probably going to bounce to the $15 level.

Markets. Markets are going up and he has never seen people so worried. We just went through an answer to the fiscal cliff and on March 1 they will get the sequester. We are actually seeing a secular move in the change in the US federal government in terms of trying to balance the deficit. They don’t have to do it all. They may have 1%-2% of GDP. The market loves the fact that the government is getting a hold of their budget deficit. Equities, in terms of valuation, are enjoying this fact and this is what we are seeing. His shop is looking at this as the start of a bull market that could last 5-8 years.
