2011-03-03 BUY Laura Wallace Well-managed company. Oil focused. Most appealing thing is the 6.3% dividend. You get exposure to the commodity price as well as the down side protection that a good yield provides.

2011-03-03 DON'T BUY Michael Sprung A lot of properties that have potential for drilling far into the future. His concern is the payout of $2.76 per year. Have a huge take-up in their dividend reinvestment plan, which dilutes the stock. Without that they couldn’t afford the $2.76. Would prefer that they were more conservative with distributions. Expensive. (He could exit in the near future.)

2014-06-23 BUY Norman Levine

In the last couple of years CPG-T really cut back on what they were buying.  He is keeping it and continuing to buy it for income accounts.   Dividend is safe because of the cash flow.  It had been an underperformer so he thinks it has a way to go still.

2011-02-28 BUY Norman Levine Acting well with the price of oil. Have some great properties in the Bakkens in Saskatchewan. Thinks the 6% dividend is safe and could grow over time.

2011-02-28 BUY Brooke Thackray Seasonality for energy is usually from January to May as well as from July until September. This year has performed well outside of the seasonality. Technically, chart shows resistance at around $40 which has now become support when it broke out late 2010. Stock looks really good.

2014-07-02 PAST TOP PICK David Cockfield

(A Top Pick July 19/13. Up 29.02%.) Still one of his core stocks because of the dividends. It is now pushing back into its higher range, so he is a little concerned. Also, worries about flood problems in Saskatchewan.

2011-04-06 BUY Norman Levine Very oily and he likes its prospects. Dividends on oil companies come from cash flow rather than earnings so there’s lots of room for the dividend to grow more. Energy prices are going to stay high.

2011-03-08 BUY on WEAKNESS Bill Harris, CFA One of the best oil companies in Canada. What is extraordinary is acknowledging that they want the big oil resource plays and how they can add primary, secondary and ternary production and they have an incredible resource that they can keep adding and expanding to products that they have already got. Would buy on a hiccup.

Model price is $38.71, a 17% downside.  There are great profits happening in the oil patch so this one is overpriced.  Prefers WCP-T.

2014-06-25 TOP PICK Martin Davies

Have been getting new types of formations, but more importantly, they have been taking their old discoveries, and using water floods to drive ahead that old decline, long life, repeatable type of asset. On some of the best oil assets in the Bakken and Viking formations. Yield of 5.97%.

2014-06-25 BUY Michael Bowman

This is one of those companies that every analyst recommends. They come out with fantastic earnings. They have increased drilling capacity every year for 3 or 4 years now. They are in the Bakken field, probably the superior field of oil in this country. Great management and fantastic balance sheet.

2012-02-09 BUY Brian Acker, CA They had a financing. Issue is that they load up with financing every once in a while. As cash bleeds away through their distribution, they will need more cash again.
